[classy=appfield] PERSONALITY :: [/classy]
As the Mountain Guardian of the Shimon family, Hayato takes his role very seriously and has the highest respect for the position. In fact he holds that point of thought for all the guardians and especially the Boss. He expects anyone holding those titles to emulate and match his feelings regarding their position and any who fail to do so will earn a cold glare and possibly a death threat. He holds the famiglia in high regard and is extremely loyal to them almost to a fault. Anything that dares to threaten his family will earned the ice cold wrath of Hayato, and no one will stand in his way. He puts the safety and welfare of the family before anything else, willing to give up his life to do so and expects all the guardians to follow suit.
Since the death of his brother Hayato has come to a realization that without strength one could not protect what he wanted and that it was his lack of strength that caused his brother’s death. He values strength above everything and it’s that same desire that continually pushes him to strive beyond his own limits, aiming to be the best at anything he does. This frame of mind has led to him becoming a sort of perfectionist, always striving to be the best. Failure to do so only causes him frustration and causing him to push himself even harder.
The combination of his perfectionist nature and values about strength cause Hayato look down upon anybody he classifies as weak, giving him a sense of superiority over others. This is most prominent in combat when he taunts and makes inferior opponents’ weakness prominent. Weakness in a Shimon Guardian and Boss is completely unacceptable, and will remove that weakness by any means necessary in order to strengthen the family, even showing hostility if required.
Hayato is mostly a loner by nature, due to the fact that he looks down on most people but mostly because he tends to carry others burdens by himself. He hates relying on other people and tends to do things by alone, even if he knows that he cannot. He can be indifferent at times but can and has shown a subtle kindness to others. Although extremely difficult, it is possible to break through Hayato’s walled heart and earn both his respect and loyalty. Only a few have achieved such a task but in doing so have acquired a comrade who will gave up his life for them in a heartbeat.

[classy=appfield] MISC INFO :: [/classy]
Since the moment Hayato open his eyes in this world, the blood of a mafioso flowed through his veins. Born as the second son to Shinji Kozuki, a Ring Guardian of the Shimon family and Marie Kozuki, the daughter of the previous boss of the same family, his destiny was seemingly tied to that of the Shimon Famiglia. With a prestigious bloodline and background such as this one would have expected Hayato to be a candidate for the next boss, and many in the family believed he had the potential. However, for Hayato, that honor and his father's absolute attention would fall to his older brother, Shou.
Since his early beginnings Hayato lived in the shadow of his brother. As a potential candidate for the next boss, the expectations were high of Shou, and no so more than Shinji, who dedicated most of his time and effort into the development of his eldest son. Of course this left Hayato basically fatherless during his younger years, being just an afterthought for his father. Fortunately Shou didn't share his father's mind set and was always there for his little brother, even training him in the ways of manipulating Dying Will flames. During these training sessions the brothers bond strengthen and soon they became thicker than thieves.
Despite the support of both his brother and mother, Hayato couldn't help but yearn the approval and attention of his beloved father. In the hopes of gaining his father's admiration, Hayato strove to excel in anything he pursued, whether it is training, the violin, school or sports, always achieving top performances in what he did. Unfortunately, despite his elite achievements he still couldn't match up to the 'genius' that was his older brother. This only further subjugated Hayato to his father's disapproval and disappointment, clearly favoring Shou and his superiority.
Hayato's attention seeking struggle would continue on for the next few years until he was 10. At the time the mafia underworld was in a buzz with a few rival families trying to remove Shimon from their current position of power. One such rival, attempted to strike at the family's future, the next candidate for boss. The assassins sent against Shou were quickly and easily dispatched with, proving no match for the prodigy of the family. Unable to directly attack the next head of the Shimon family, the rival family decided to go after the thing most precious to Shou: Hayato.
On his way from school Hayato found himself being pulled into a black van by men dressed in dark attire. Unable to resist he found himself gagged and tied up before being knocked out with a blow to the back off his neck. Waking up groggily and in a room unfamiliar to him, Hayato soon found himself held hostage and the kidnappers’ demands - the exchange of Hayato for Shou. Realizing what his kidnappers planned to do, Hayato could only beg and cry helplessly asking them to take his life instead and leave his brother alone, leave the future of his family alone. It seemed Shinji shared his youngest son's opinion and decided against Shou going to rescue his brother. Despite Shou's pleas and arguments Shinji forbid him from taking action, claiming him to be too important to risk for an inferior son. Upset and furious at his father's own disregard for one of his kin, Shou set off secretly to rescue his brother by himself and without the family's knowledge, especially his father.
Proceeding to the agreed location, an abandoned warehouse, Shou found himself surrounded by thirty enemies and his bound brother helplessly at the mercy of them. The deal was simple - Shou's life or Hayato's. Agreeing to the terms Shou surrendered to Hayato's captors, allowing them to take his box weapon and animal. However, the kidnappers had never intended to allow either of the brothers to survive and proceed to kill both Shou and Hayato. Having already seen through their plan, Shou summoned a swell of gravity upon the men restraining his brother with his Earth flame. 'Run!' were the last words Hayato heard from his beloved brother as he frantically escaped from the hellacious battle between Shou and thirty enemies. His breath heavy, his heart racing and his muscles screaming his agony, Hayato soon passed out a few hundred meters from the warehouse. Waking up back at his own house, Hayato was greeted by sullen faces by his family and members of the Shimon family. Looking at his tear-filled mother and disappointed father, Hayato was informed that his brother, Shou was killed. Managing to defeat the thirty kidnappers had left him with enough wounds that would prove to be fatal after the battle. Grieve stricken Hayato's world collapsed as his most treasured person was no longer in this world. In his own pool of tears he vowed never to be that weak again, to never be the cause of a loved one’s death.
With the guilt of his brother's death fuelling his determination, he began training harder than ever to be part of the Shimon family, though no longer as a Boss candidate, he felt undeserving of that, but as the strongest guardian, aiming to take the position of Mountain Guardian held by his father. Over the next eight years his strength would grow by leaps and bounds and became known as a combat genius in his own right if not to the extent as his brother. Attracting various rivals within the family that wanted to test that claim, he was constantly engaged in battles throughout the years. It was these constant battles that earned him both the nickname of Earth Emperor, for his earth manipulating flame and Nami's Bad boy due to the fights taking place at his school.
Now at the age of 18, the elite delinquent of Namimori High has taken up the role of Mountain Guardian and is ready to prove himself the strongest and protect his family with everything he has.
- Ironically his called Nami's Bad Boy despite being the top student in the school.
- Due to being called Earth Emperor, most people confuse him with the Earth Boss of Shimon, thinking his the leader while not knowing that he is actually the Mountain Guardian.
