Finally, a trip to the seaside! Raitaro always loved going on holidays. The breaks from school (which he never attended) the breaks from work (which he barely did) and the breaks from training (seriously, what does he even DO all day?) was all he looked forward to, so when his father decided to take him on one a few weeks early he was naturally incredibly suspicious. Of course, his first question had been could he bring Takumi but he'd been shot down and told this wasn't just a pleasure trip. It seemed that his father had been busy, he'd scoured the entire of Namimori to find appropriate people to guard the Mare Rings who would work well with his son. And when he'd found them he'd extended as polite an invitation as he could to them. He'd done his best, he could only hope they were old enough and mature enough to counteract Raitaro's foolishness.
They strolled off the train with Shinnosuke carrying a large cloth sack containing a number of spears and wearing his usual hakama. Raitaro was wearing flip-flops, swimming trunks and sunglasses with no shirt so he could 'show off his rocking abs'. Shinnosuke turned to look at his sun who looked back, completely serious
"..."
"... won't you be hot in that?"
"You know I was serious, right? There's a Mare ring here"
"Really? Spiaggia's first mission is on a BEACH, because THAT wouldn't be too obvious"
"While I'm pleased you're leaning some Italian, I am thoroughly aggravated that you didn't even bring clothes"
"Well I'm annoyed that you didn't bring sunblock. So, you know. Bygones be bygones"
No-one knows exactly how Shinnosuke does it since bullets ricochet off his head but with one quick chop he knocked Raitaro unconscous and hauled his body over one shoulder to drag his mumbling son to the beach,
Raitaro regained consciousness with his father standing over him, spear in hand and staring out at the ocean. They looked to be on a deserted stretch of beach, no tourists around. Of course, that ruined 80% of Raitaro's fun since there were no girls for him to appreciate. With his eyes. He pouted as he got up and looked at his father, he appeared to be standing guard
"So are we getting any other company in this family outing or are we just looking at Father/Son bonding?"
"I invited the people I have chosen to be Guardians so far, we are far from complete but it will be enough I pray for the task at hand"
Raitaro sighed and sat down in a poof of sand, looking to either side for some sign of the mysterious warriors approaching.

At least he was prepared for the destined location as Angelo had decided to wear an white tee-shirt with an dark orange sleeveless hooded vest along with an pair of dark brown cargo shorts with a pair of black and yellow converses and on his right wrist was an wristband with the American flag for the design. Damian was going more for practicality because with these clothing he would be well suited for the blazing hot sun and if push came to shove he could easily maneuver if a battle ensued all he did was hope that he wasn't the only one looking in such a way. He quickly shoved the piece of paper into his pocket and then took out his camera right when he got a good view of the beach.
"Now let's see..."Damian then raised the camera to eye level before scanning the rather barren beach for an sign of the rest of the familia, he managed to snap a few photos of the beach during the search."Wow, not everyday you can manage to get pictures of a beach without tourists. "A smile grew on Damian's face as he admired some of shots before he quickly shook his head as he remembered why he was here. He quickly scanned again before noticing two figures further down the beach,"must be them," that is when the American started to walk towards the two men.
When he got close enough he noticed one who was sitting down in a pool of sand wearing swim-trunks and flipflops and appeared in his teens, well at least he didn't have to worry about being too casual for this meeting of sorts. He smiled an gave a small wave to the teen,"Heya, glad I am not the only one who dressed for a day at the beach." He said before his attention was drawn to the rather intimidating man wearing to what was an hakama and held onto a spear and with that caused Damian to quickly stand up straight and quickly bow out of respect,"I-I mean Damian Angelo, Sun Guardian. R-reporting!" The teen was rather terrified as he didn't really want to make the man mad, also to his knowledge he thought the older man was the leader of the familia while the other teen was an fellow guardian or something."N-nice to meet you sir Raitaro!"He added before returning to his original posture as he tried to make an good impression to the 'boss'. Ken hadnt been to the seaside since he had come here, though he would have liked to, but all the work that had been poured on him from school had prevented him from having a good time. It would only be fair that he would have a little time to relax and mess around, even though he knew what he was here for. Ken was not sure If he would even accept the invitation to be apart of this family, but when he had his doubts, he thought about what his mentor had told him, to find people like him, fighting for a cause, but it was hard for Ken to find their cause, since the family itself was so small he didnt know what their cause was. Ken also thought about how Rai was going to be able to lead this family, since he was so young, but he was sure that his father would be there to help him. But one thing was for sure, he had no clue that he would become the Sky Guardian for them, despite his carefree and lazy attitude.
Ken walked up towards the beach and looked up at the sky, feeling the bright sun pounding down on his head. He put on his sunglasses and smirked, and looked around the beach. "Hmm, I was expecting more people, it's such a nice day." He rolled up the sleeves of his shirt and felt the sand seep into his shoes. He had suddenly looked upon the small gathering to the side and causally walked over to the group, realizing that it was his. He gave a small wave to the people that were there; Raitaro, his father, and another person, who Ken did not recognize. "Well I hope im not too late for the party."

Of course it wasn't Damian that Raitaro first noticed, it was the flash out of the corner of his eye of the camera and immediately made him want to lambast every stereotype about JAPANESE people being camera trigger happy as the blond guy at the other end of the peace was taking pictures. It took him a couple of seconds to realise that given the empty beach he was almost certainly going to be one of the new guardians.
Raitaro managed to look up, catching a glimpse of the tall foreigner running at them and immediately looked at his father oddly. He'd never seen the guy before in his life, was he one of Feren's friends? The green haired Arcobaleno did seem to know everyone and they all had bizarrely dangerous hobbies. He watched the guy in beachwear walk up to them, he seemed quite normal at first and Raitaro acknowledged his statement about beachwear with an amicable nod before he started spluttering about his name and position Sun Guardian, which seemed fitting given the location. Raitaro still didn't get quite why he was being so awkward until he realised he was talking to his father Shinnosuke. Getting to his feet he fairly loudly started complaining
"oi, Oyaji, what are you doing trying to usurp me, huh? Taking other the Famiglia huh? What if I'm not cool with this? Well, I am so don't worry I-"
"Shut up, Raitaro" scowled Shinnosuke "It's a case of mistaken identity. Angelo-san, my son Raitaro is the "Boss" of Spiaggia in Mafia terms, though he is less a Leader and more a figurehead"
"Hey, don't make me look bad in front of the gaijin. Hey Damian, naisu tsu michu" Proving his poor grasp of English yet again, Raitaro was already hard at work trying to think of a nickname for Damian since he didn't seem to refer to any of his friends with their proper titles.
Fortunately for his nickname making skills, Raitaro wouldn't have to think too hard at the next guest as his face split into a wide smile. He'd know that surprisng shock of blue hair anywhere
"Kenpai! What're you doing here are-" oh wait, he knew about the mafia so that meant..."You got Kenpai on board with being a Guardian?"
"Well, I hardly explained the entire situation to them in the letters but I'll explain now." Shinnosuke quite calmly shoved his son to stand between Kentaro and Damian as he addressed all three of them
"As you may well know, the Giglio Nero famiglia is no more. Before their dissolution a group called Spiaggia was charged with guarding the rings. Damian, a relative of members of the Famiglia, is one of the strongest unaffiliated Dying Will Flame users we could contact and according to Feren his style of combat is well suited to his own so he can help him to develop techniques. Kentaro, another relative to an existing famiglia, there are not many Sky Flame users who do not already lead a Famiglia so it is fortunate we found you, and you are already associated with Raitaro. And Raitaro... well, we make due"
"OIII! Damn old man!" Raitaro grumbled, unaware that his father was hardly going to admit the truth. That Raitaro was serving as the guardian because his skill with a spear was bordering on the Supernatural and even without a ring he could utilise Dying Will Flames. Even if he didn't know it, despite his foolishness Raitaro could be a great leader. Shinnosuke continued addressing them still formally
"You have been chosen to protect the Mare Rings, 1/3rd of the 3^7. For safety reasons, I cannot explain more about that until I am convinced you are on our side. And for that reason I have brought us here as a test. There is a friend of ours here shrouding the area in an illusion, we need you to prove you have the force of will to get through it." Shinnosuke smiled as the trio would slowly realise that the beach was indeed an illusion. Though they could feel the sand between their toes and smell the ocean breeze, the location was wrong they SHOULD be near a temple. Of course Raitaro showed his maturity here by freaking out a bit and trying to work out where they were. If Damian were to check his photographs, he'd likely see the outline of the true world behind the illusion captured in film and Kentaro's scoutr might show traces of the Mist flames used in construction.
All this thought was soon interupted as pillars of sand rose up and formed three different blobs of entities, holes for eyes and mouth as they shimmered through the sand towards the three boys.
"I hate illusions" Raitaro sighed as he caught Raku Raku in a fluid twist as his father threw it at him. "One each guys let's go" before he dived in spear ready to fight.
((OOC: Exposition! So yeah, you guys can fight your own sand monster but you can't destroy them and they regenerate from any injury because illusion. You can dominate them as much as you like but can't beat 'em, that alright?))

From what Shinnosuke explained the situation about the group and Spiaggia familia Damian let out a small giggle about the comment about Rai before quickly returning his attention to the explanation. As it appeared that this is one large illusion and an test which caused Damian to press his glasses up along his nose,"I guess that explains the fact that the area is pretty barren." The American while thinking about the current situation, how about his photos? They could shed some light on the true location but as he held onto his camera to check he was interrupted by what appeared to be three sand blob like beings which caused Damian to sigh slightly while putting his camera back in his pocket and in one fluid motion his ring glowed an brilliant yellow before he trusted it into the weapon box. "Never really had a chance to fight an illusion like this. First time for everything, Revolver Solari."
In a flash the box opened and a pair of two dark brown leather gun holsters appeared around Damian's waist one per hip with the silver revolvers resting in their place with his right hand hovering over the handle of his right revolver." Well then, I call dibs on the one to the right." The blond stated before side stepping to the right and quickly drew his gun and unloaded all six shots and when the sun bullets pierced through the sand blob's head and torso the wounds quickly healed and it swung it's arm for an counter attack which prompted Damian to take a quick back step to dodge. "Well that didn't work..."He mumbled as he unloaded the empty shells from his gun before reloading it back up,"There has to be more to this."The blond added before beginning to fire his weapon but now with both of the revolvers, but the intent wasn't to hurt the sand creature but to supply cover fire so he could try to figure out what their objective in this test was while despite appearing like swiss cheese due to the bullet holes the creature kept on recovering and Damian often side stepped around it to maintain a reasonable distance. "Hey you guys figure anything out?" He asked to see if the other two had figured anything about the situation.[/style] |

Kentaro could see the excitement on Rai face when he had walked over, which made him smile as well. He made it sound like he was somebody that couldnt be won over, which was true most of the time. But he felt that he needed to help out this family any way he could. Being the user of the Sky Flame and not being affiliated with any other family but his real family was sort of a problem, since he knew that he was not a leader of anything. Just thought of being one made him sick to his stomach, though a follower was something that he was good at.
Ken stood with his hands in his pockets and smiled at the young boy, as he smiled at him. "Oh yea, Full-Grade Guardian." Ken smirked, as Rai was between him and guardian known as Damian and listened to what his father had to say. Everything that Kentaro had listened to he had heard before or researched by himself, though he didnt want to seem like he was a know it all. Despite his lazy attitude, he loved researching things that had anything to do with the mafia, like flames and special weapons. He had listened to the history of the mare rings from his father and was typically interested in the power of the Sky Mare ring, being able to travel back in froth from parallel worlds seemed like a great thing for Ken, though he was sure that it would take awhile before they would ever find another ring. He nodded about there task and smirked, thinking about how easy this was going to be.
He turned about and saw the creatures of sand rise from the ground, at which Ken thought about which he box he should use. Ever since he was little, Ken couldnt stand the flame of mist, as it would always give him a challenge when fighting, which is why he had this scouter built for him. SInce he could see where it was coming from, the only matter left was what to do. "Lets see, Sword or Swoop?" He saw that Damian had used what he noticed was guns, and Ken smirked. "Guess it's weapons." He took out an orange box and a flame ignited from his ring on the opposite hand, forcing the box open, revealing a sword. He had his sword by his side. As he ran towards his sand monster, he made the sword separate, mimicking the motion of a snake, where it wrapped around the creature and squeezed it, though it had easily got out of it.
He continued to slash the monster, but they would just repair themselves. Though Ken was having trouble, he continued to smirk, listened to Damian from afar. "Plan A, find whoever is doing this." He pressed a button on his sunglasses and an interface came up in his glasses. He looked around and tried to triangulate the position where the actual flames were coming from. "Its going to take awhile, so cover me."

As Damian moved fluidly to avoid the sand creatures and yelled out the question whether anyone had any ideas how to stop the sand illusions some eyes turned to Raitaro. As he was slammed repeatedly into the ground by the sand monster in front of him, swinging from the left to the right in a brutal pendulum motion of crashing over and over
"I think I'venearly workedout a way to" *SLAM* whatever Raitaro was about to say was cut off as once more his Undead Body slammed into the pavement---
Wait, what?
As he looked to his side, Raitaro realised that the repeated slammings of the illusionary sand monster had somehow cracked him through to the real world. Which would be fine if it wasn't for the fact he was only aware of this because being slammed into soft cushiony sand wouldn't have hurt him enough apparently. Still, as he struggled to twist with his spear and sever the arm clutching his leg and landed once more on the beach Raitaro could at least give them an idea where they were
"OK, so from the look of the floor we're currently in a parking lot somewhere, we should probably work from there" Raitaro wiped his mouth briefly as he glanced back at his two fellow guardians. It was weird, he was the leader but he didn't feel like the boss. This was how Spiaggia was meant to be, not one leader with 6 to protect him, 7 people guarding something valuable held together as equals. Still, maybe a little interruption of the pummeling would have been nice...
As his own sand creature reformed, Raitaro took a moment to think. His Spear was a poor match for the amorphous creatures. Not that Kentaro's sword or Damian's revolvers were much better but they did both seem to have a system down for keeping them at bay. Kentaro was scanning for a sign of the illusionist and asked for cover which seemed like a good a time as any to leave Damian to guarding the Sky Flame User. Because from the brief glimpse he'd caught Raitaro knew roughly how far the illusion extended. Once he got back to 'the road' and off the sand he'd be out of the illusion but that didn't guarantee whoever held them there could still... wait
Raitaro jabbed forward with his spear and watched as the creature swatted it aside. Shuffling to the left Raitaro thrust again and once more it was intercepted so he kept sliding round, changing the timing of the thrust each time until he finally got through and grinned. Making sure he was right by tucking a few times as the swipes came in and watching them sail ahead he finally laughed and hopped backwards with his spear pointing directly forwards
"HA! Nice line of sight illusionist. Kenpai! He's that way, he couldn't see where I was with the creature between me and him. Kodak, you got the longest range when Kenpai sees him take a shot and we'll follow it up with a rush attack" Raitaro's surprising knowledge of American Camera brands aside, the plan was fairly well thought through if not for one thing. A sand monster he was now ignoring seconds away from smacking him once more with an axe-handle...
((OOC: Oh yeah, if you guys wanna switch order for this one that's cool if not Jay-Jay with the rough direction I figure Kentaro can spot the illusionist from here. Description sake just say he's in a purple cloak if that's cool, I'll control the guy))

Ken tried his best to attack the monsters that had come up around him, and the ones that Damien missed. Ken tried to focus on his glasses, as various data had started to pop up on the screen, which was kind of hard when there were pillars of sand blocking his way. There was something else that he noticed that he did not before, that this was not the world that they were used to. Whoever this guy was, he had trapped them in another world, something that had astonished him and made him smirk. "This guy is fun, whoever he is." Ken laughed to himself.
Suddenly, his glasses started to beep rapidly, and Ken smirked, facing towards the way of the source of this game. He could hear the yell of Rai and nodded at him, though he was confused on how he was taking such a beating. Ken forced his sword to go back inside his box, as he took out another one. "Let's go Swoop." A big orange bat had come out of the box, giving a high pitch squeaking noise landing on his shoulder. "You ready buddy." The bat had hovered in front of him and smirked pointing towards his path. "Screech of the Sky." Swoop gave off a loud screech, orange waves had appeared and dissolved every sand monster that was in his path. It seemed that it had hit a wall, as it revealed to be a shadow of a person. "Damien Now"

Alright, their plan had worked! Pumping his fist cheerfully Raitaro glanced across at Kenpai as his Box Animal cleared the path. As expected, his senpai was really good at getting the job done. Grinning at the resolution, Raitaro pointed forward once more

"D-Damian?" Uh-oh the American wasn't... uhh, OK, so plan B. Raitaro gripped his spear tighter and glanced across to the Sky Guardian. Well, this wasn't ideal but it looked like they'd need a plan B. Which wasn't Raitaro's strong suit. Hell, Plan A's weren't his strong point. The sand seemed to have quelled and wasbeing replaced by a dull indigo colour flame that lazily crawled it's way back up to the central figure.
He wore a dark robe with a thick mask and chuckled to himself, speaking in a terrifying tone of voice that seemed to echo through the entire area.
"Foolish Children-" he crooned "Thinking that you could simply walk in and claim the 3^7. You have to earn the right" as he said this a greater force seemed to well up behind him, it looked like a demon swirling through the mist. Raitaro wondered if this had been what seemed to make Damian pause, was the Mist-User really stoppable?
He could get into their heads, both him and Kentaro would be seeing this monstrosity and suddenly his ridiculous beach-wear felt direly innappropriate. He gritted his teeth, no good backing down now they needed to get that ring after all. He felt a flicker of Dying Will Flames, his resolve was stronger than his usual lack of interest as Raku-Raku began to throb with green lightning. Glancing across to Kentaro he tried to convey his plan
"If we strike at the same time, split his focus, we might get through" That had been the one weakness when he was using the sand creatures too, having to split his focus between three of them had given them all an opening. As the mist-user's power swelled up Raitaro sprang forward hoping Kentaro came with him
"DENKOUISSEN " it was a flash of movement, impossibly fast as Raitaro scorched past the Mist-User. He'd gone low, aiming for the waist and chest with his slice of incredible sharpness, assuming Kentaro would go high. He paused and turned waiting to see their result.

Kentaro had yelled across towards his fellow teammate, in order to make his plan work he needed the strength of Damien's revolver, though it didnt work like planned as it seemed that he got the chills or something. Ken shrugged his shoulders calmly. He was a master of improvising, since it was a chance to show his real skills. Even though the plan didnt work as well as he would have liked, he looked over at the area that he hit and could see the flames of mist materializing right in front of them. He witnessed the forming with his glasses and smiled. "Whoever this guy is, he's outputting mist flames at a high rate." He pushed his glasses up and stood his ground and waited for whatever to happen next.
The voice that had spoke to the guardians had Ken wonder who this was. Even if he had asked him, there was probably a good chance that he wouldnt tell them anyways, but Ken was hit first, ask questions later kind of guy and right now, all he wanted to do was it. He laughed at the voice that called them children. "After today, we are going to be the children that kicked your ass." He petted his bat and smiled, looking over at Raitaro, feeling his will from where he was. He then forced Swoop back into its box and and again put his glasses on, viewing the mass of mist flames.
Even though he didnt realize it, but this was a serious battle. This was a battle of one of the mare rings,one set of the most powerful rings ever. But to him, it felt like this was any normal battle. Ken smirked and again looked over at Rai, and it was like they had some kind of telepathic communication, as Ken understood exactly what he was saying and nodded. He tighten his fist while it glowed with orange flames. "I really really hate mist flames." He saw Rai run towards the user and Ken followed suit. "MIrror of the Sky!" Ken thrusted his fist, and could see it rejecting the mist flames, which was his intended result.

The mist-user grinned, apparently ready to strike when the Mirror of the Sky seemed to strike him at the same time as Raitaro's spear. The twin blows made him vanish completely in a burst of orange and green fire as the two guardians attacked. The beach illusion was blown away like the wind and left only a single tinkling sound as a ring tumbled to the ground from where the man had been standing. Crouching down, Raitaro picked it up and flicked it into the air " Huh... neat" he grinned at Kentaro, looked like they'd managed it. He rested his spear across his shoulders with the kind of obscene control and balance his family regularly hated him for. He wandered over towards Kentaro and gave him a broad thumbs-up " Nice work, Kenpai! We might just make a Mafia yet" glancing around and seeing no sign of his father Raitaro shrugged, looked like he'd already gone home, ah well. " I dunno about you but while I'm here I'm going to find A beach and sunbathe some. See ya later" he waved cheerfully as he strolled off, spear resting across his shoulders because, god-damnit, he wasn't about to let a little thing like carrying a weapon in public slow him down. --- The mist-user appeared behind Shinnosuke in a small blur of illusions and tugged away his old cloak to reveal a ninjutsu uniform beneath it. Grunting, he began taking it off and scowled at Raitaro's father "You know I don't like using Mist Flames" "You're better at it than me, and we needed to test him" "With illusions? If it wasn't for the Sky-Flame boy he wouldn't-" "Well that's why he has guardians isn't it, Dad?" Shinnosuke sighed as Raikou was now revealed to be wearing swimming trunks "What are you doing?" "Going to the beach to find Raitaro so we can hit on some girls. Later" he hobbled off in search of sand and sea leaving the long suffering head of the Inazuma style to despair of the two greatest users of his long practiced art.
