They call him the king of the high wire. A mafia member with insane levels of skill as an acrobat. A man who loves freedom and hates enclosed spaces. It is because of this that he doesn't actually really live anywhere. He wanders freely and sleeps in strange places, sometimes undercover and other times not. That was just the way he was.
That was why he was currently dozing, not quite asleep and still alert, but seeming to be asleep in an alcove of a building about 20ft off the ground. He was quite relaxed. He was sure he was meant to be doing something, but obligations and things like that he found sort of confining. He kept his promises, most of the time, but he rarely made them unless the situation was right or he was in the mood. That was just who he was.
Promises. He was certain he had a promise to keep, but was it and who had he made it to? Was it mafia related or wasn't it? It was quite difficult to remember for him and he refused to dwell on it. He yawned and opened one eye a bit more, looking about. He felt like someone was near, but who could it be? It could just be an ordinary person, but when you'd been mafia for a while you gained a sort of ESP for detecting people who could be dangerous.

Standing a few feet from the alcove was a man in a dark grey trench-coat. Easily 6 feet tall, a broad black hat on his head and dark sunglasses, the outline of a handgun obvious in his suit's pocket. He was looking intently at the slumbering Iroka, an intimidating man with an intimidating prescence, it would appear to any reasonable man that the aura of intimidationg was indeed coming from the man in the suit. Which was probably why it'd be surprising when he reached behind him and produced a baby.
Setting it down, the baby was obviously a boy as well as completely naked, a golden pacified hanging around his neck and his surprising stable body standing upright as it too looked into the alcove, moss green hair spread across his head the naked child looked oddly interested in the slumbering acrobat, though he doubted he'd recognise him like this. Clearing his throat, the baby spoke up
"Oi, lazy acrobat, get down here we need your help in Spiaggia"
the nickname might not make it obvious so he took a few seconds to think about it before he added in
"It's Feren, I just look a little different"
This stupid body, honestly, he hated being a baby but the free time it allowed him to work on inventions while people just walked straight past him compensated for it. If Iroka were to doubt him it'd only take a brief look at the glare and the hair to realise this was indeed the former Sun Guardian of Spiaggia. Though now a little shorter..

An ominous yet familiar presence caused the man to open his eye slightly further. There was a large man in a trenchcoat one he did not recognise at all. The aura seemed to be coming from him yet it also seemed that it wasn't. That was rather curious. What was truly curious was when a baby was produced from behind the man. The aura was now clearly radiating from the baby. It had a golden pacifier and was naked. It was clearly a male. Despite being a baby it stood up quite easily. He raised an eyebrow. Could it be one of the legendary arcobaleno? The baby called up to him, which almost confirmed his suspicion. Either that or child geniuses were a lot more advanced then he thought.
Lazy? How was he lazy? He was just relaxing and had nothing else to do, except the thing he couldn't remember. THe spiaggia needed him? Who were the spiaggia? It was then that the name clicked and he sat up suddenly and looked down closer at the baby. It seemed familiar. When he introduced himself as Feren the king of the highwire had to stifle a laugh. Feren had become one of the arcobaleno? Either that or the guy in the trench coat was a very skilled mist flame user. Oh well, he'd take a risk.
With little effort he rolled off the side, grabbed hold of a pole sticking out of the wall, swung round it and landed on a lower wall in a hand stand before flipping off and landing in front of Feren in a seated position.
"You're shorter then I remember. I told you those experiments weren't good for you." he said with a shake of his head and a slight grin. "Trying to work on an eternal youth formula and it worked too well?" He was joking of course and this was obvious. Iroka Shandou was an acrobat and a tease as well as the former cloud guardian of the spiaggia. He knew Feren well. He glanced at the man behind Feren for a moment then returned his gaze to the arcobaleno.
"I'm pretty sure someone else told me to help the old family." he said as a response. That must of been the promise he was struggling to remember. "But why do they need me? I mean its been ages since we left" He was sure he'd had that explained before as well, but he did like hearing his praises sung and he honestly couldn't think of a decent reason why he of all the old members were needed.

Ken seemingly walked out of the shadow with his hands in his pockets and a light smile on his face. Ken waved his hand towards Iroka and Feren. Ken figured since he was the unofficial right hand of Rai and the Spiaggia, he would take the initiative to recruit some people, and Rai was a little inexperienced to handle this kind of stuff. Ken thought to himself that if Rai was here, He would just scare everyone off.
Ken looked towards the baby and smiled. "So this is the mighty Feren that ive heard about." He knew about the acrobaleno and was not shocked about his stature or his ability to talk like other people. In fact, Ken was sort or star strucken, as he was in the presence of some powerful people and past guardians of the Spiaggia. "Rai talks about you alot." Even though Ken was performing his version of drooling over stars, he knew that this wasnt the time.
He pulled his hands out of his pocket and rubbed his hair and smiled. "We need you. The Spiaggia is going to be more powerful than anyone than ever realized. But in order to do that, we need powerful people." Ken pointed towards Iroka and chuckled. "Ergo, You?"

Feren's eyebrow twitched as he mentioned how this could be his experiment's fault and glared up at the now taller than him Acrobat "Oi, oi, you know full well that science didn't make me pint-size, Iroka" he was a little grouchy about the whole thing, he didn't enjoy being an arcobaleno when it came to the physical side of things, everyone was always so much taller than him. Even if he retained his Dying Will Flame abilities, he didn't think they worked so well as a baby. He could lift the same amount, just about, but it was a bit more of a struggle.
"As for why we need you, well-" he seemed to be interupted here by the arrival of a blue haired boy who also seemed to know Feren. He squinted slightly, he recognised the face, it was on one of the profiles Shinnosuke carried with him for potential guardians, he seemed to know the boss anyway as he mentioned his name, Feren did raise an eyebrow "Ho? A friend of Raitaro? With your hair I guess you're the scientist he said they recruited. I don't think we're as hard up as you seem to think, I'm here for two reasons" the speech was perhaps undercut by the fact it came from a naked toddler but he looked up at Iroka, his handy sub-ordinate grabbing him around the waist and hauling him so he was eye-level. It was to make the talk more serious but unfortunately looked inadvertently comical
"Saya's brat is the new boss, we need the Mare Rings and you're the only survivor I could find. You still have your ring? We need it. We also need a guardian but I'm not about to get you to take that responsibility again. We need you to train your replacement." Feren waited, he already expected the answer. Iroka wasn't like the other Cloud Guardians he'd met, he wasn't anti-social as much as he was just a bit too lose in his vision of how he should behave, he did what he felt like and they had to cope with it. All he could hope was that his attachement to Saya and all their other dead friends would motivate him to ensure this new Spiaggia could continue the Giglio Nero legacy.
He did spare a glance at the blue-haired kid, he seemed interested in helping the family. He was all for pro-bono recruitment but he may have over-stepped his bounds "Scientist-kun, Spiaggia isn't about the strongest in the world having the Rings. It's about the owner of the rings becoming the strongest in the world, we can't carry on our memberships. Iroka's place as the main bearer of the Mare Ring will soon be over, like mine. It's up to him if his time with the family is too." life couldn't have been easy after they'd been wiped out, Feren had spent a lot of the last ten years struggling to get his head in the right place before becoming an Arcobaleno and meeting up with the Inazumas. He wondered how Iroka would react to this.

So the group needed him again? That was interesting and Saya's kid was in charge? It made sense to him though. He'd heard of Rai, but not much. Saya was an epic person. He wondered if Rai took after him. He sat there in silenece for a moment trying to stifle the laugh he so wanted to laugh. Feren was much funnier like this.
The other person did not surprise him really. Little seemed to surprise him that much. Or at least surprising thing didn't surprise him. As an example of something that would surprise him the fact that this guy who had just turned up was a scientist surprised him though he didn't show it. It seemed obvious that the mare rings were needed, but what surprised him was that he was the only survivor Feren could find.
"We're the only ones left?" he asked with a definite note of sadness in his voice. He may have been a bit of a free loving spirit who seemed to help only when it was needed or he felt like it, but he really was fond of them all in his own way. He reached into his long hair and removed what appeared to be a hair clip. However, if looked at again it was possible to notice that it was a ring slotted into a hair clip. "Its one thing i won't lose, nor will I hand it over to just anyone." He returned it to his hair, hidden beneath the thick locks. It hadn't been easy to obtain for him and he didn't plan to make it easy for the next wielder. It was a weapon of great power after all and very rare. Supposedly part of the tri-ni-set. He didn't really care about that though. What would bother him was that he had put so much effort to get the ring. He rarely put a lot of effort into anything except his acrobatics so if he did so it meant a lot to him. "I'll come back and train the next guardian. Until then I will take up my old post I guess." he said with a shrug. He slowly rose to his feet and then backflipped into a handstand.
"So who is my heir?"

However, I can assure that steps are being taken to locate the right person for the job." The voice that came was calm and almost lazy, though the sudden presence of the white haired young woman now leaning on the wall some feet behind, partly concealed in shadows became more apparent. Of course, perhaps it was to be expected that the Varia-raised Rain Guardian had an annoying little habit of showing up in places that she didn't need to be or without prior warning. Then again, such stealth was probably to be expected of someone who had survived that long and managed to earn that curious nickname.
She'd been there for a majority of the conversation, after receiving orders to keep an eye on Feren and see what he was up. Under normal circumstances, she might have kept quiet and not revealed her presence, simply reporting back to Rai what she had seen and heard, but this matter seemed to peak her interest more than usual. Besides, they were all family, right? There was no point in skulking around in the shadows.
"So, that's the Cloud Mare Ring, eh? Impressive." Rin added with a calm and confident smirk, though it seemed apparent she had no intention of approaching, far to comfortable in her current position leaning against the wall. "Should I go inform the boss about the good news then, Feren-san, or would you prefer to do so, personally?" Rin questioned in a feigning polite manner, though the veiled reference seemed apparent. Because you see, while Rin was incredibly loyal when it came to the family, she had no problem admitting that her primary loyalty was to Rai and Rai alone. There were no secrets kept from the boss, at least not on her watch, anyway.
The rest of the family were secondary and that went for Feren, as well, so Rai would likely learn about what had transpired either way. It was simply who Feren wanted to tell him. Then again, what Rai lacked in ruthless efficiency, Rin always seemed to make up for. Her experience and understanding, made her both a talented ally and occasionally, a very frightening person to cross, but she was a natural born assassin and had the genetics to back up that reputation. Of course, for the most part, she was pretty mild mannered, at least, when she wasn't hitting Rai for flirting with her, which he had a terrible habit of doing quite often. With her ferocity, it was a wonder she hadn't killed him yet. It wasn't like he had anything else to go. The nearest shooting range was well...there wasn't one nearby that he knew of. The forest made a good place, but he didn't want to always have to go there. So, he'd begun practicing at the dojo by using the illusions of targets and the illusion of a paint ball gun. They were illusions, so the chances of staining anything with paint were very nonexistent. The illusions of bullets...well they could still do a little bit of damage.
This was what he was doing today at the Inazuma dojo. Practicing. Unlike Raitaro, Sheeka made sure to practice his skills to maintain a level he deemed appropriate. It was rather scary, though. The guns came to him naturally. It wasn't a weapon his mother, Varina Rovati, had used...but then again....ever since he'd figured out his mother had been a mafia member and a former member of the Spiaggia...it was like he never really knew who she was. All he knew of her was what he knew of her as his mother, but nothing else. There wasn't anything bad about it...it just kind of hurt that there were people who probably knew her better than he did and better than he ever would now that she had passed away.
Amongst the current family...Kentaro was the unofficial right-hand man, that much was obvious. Rin was...what was Rin to Rai, besides Rai's favorite thing to try to flirt with, was the experience that Raitaro didn't have at the moment. She was almost a mentor of sorts. Rai's eyes and ears. It was clear where her loyalties were. It wasn't a bad thing. Loyalty to Rai meant loyalty to the Spiaggia, after all.
Sheeka was...probably the little brother of the family. As much as he loathed the little part of that title, but he was also the calm, unless it came to his height and sensible one. Easy-going and easy to please, he probably brought a sense of balance and sanity to a group of insanity. He was perfectly fine that.
The targets of Sheeka's current training regiment were moving, numbered, as well as at varying distances from him. This way, it provided him the agility to be able to switch targets at will, making it easier to hit a moving target, as well as helping him gauge how well he shot at each range. From the looks of it, he really didn't need the training. Guns seemed to be something natural for him.
Shooting the last target easily which had floated between Rin at the other two, he left the now-center colored targets where they were before moving over to the group that now were chatting amongst themselves, catching the end of one of the conversations.
"So who is my heir?" |
[/i] He'd been half-listened the entire time during his daily routine, but finally decided to chime in as he allowed his current firearm illusions to fade away. "Nobody yet," he answered mere milliseconds after Rin answered, glancing upwards towards the acrobat. He had a mild bit of skill in acrobatics, but nothing compared to the former and current cloud guardian. He could do simple things; mostly just avoidance as well as some tricks he'd picked up on the streets to help him survive. He'd become quite a notorious pick-pocket and thief during those days...but only stealing what he needed when he needed it...but those were probably less on the acrobatic side... Inclining his head in greeting to Feren, Rin, Kentaro and Iroka, Sheeka took up a position sprawled out on the ground. It was kind of comfy like that, anyway... Though he shrugged. He listened to Feren and was actually confused about what he was trying to do. Why would he train a new guardian when we have him. Ken tried to see the logic in his reasoning, but kept shaking his head in confusion. It seemed less troubling for the family to recruit Iroka instead of some random person that they didnt know, well at least as much as he knew about Iroka. Though he disagreed with Feren, Ken wasnt about to be the one to tell an Arcobaleno he was wrong, at least not yet, so he just kept his mouth shut. Ken crossed his arms and thought about Feren's philosophy about the rings and nodded his head. He didnt mean to sound power hungry and arrogant, though he still kept the same mindset. Maybe strong would have been a more appropriate word.
He sort of got excited when he saw the mare ring being pulled out of his hair, though wasnt surprised when he refused to give it up, but offered to train the next guardian, which was a relief to Ken as a little part in the back of his mind thought that they would have to fight for it. Another question had popped into his mind, What happened to the other members? They couldnt have have just died from natural causes, could they? Iroka doesnt look a day over 30 so it couldnt be old age. Ken realized that it hurt a sore spot within him when Feren mentioned the other members of the family, so he decided that he would keep his mouth shut, just in case.
He smiled as it seemed that he wasnt the only one from the family that was present. First he noticed Sheeka as he gave a slight wave to the mist user. But hen he noticed the stern girl that had come out. It seemed that she was the guardian that Rai had told him about, the rain guardian and it seemed that Rai had a crush on her of sorts. He could tell that she was more business than fun, but that was from first glance. Ken gave her a friendly salute and turned towards the Arcobaleno as he wanted to learn more about this family. "So Feren, What happened to the rest of the members? I could be reading into this more than it needs to be, but what's the story?" Ken rubbed his his chin in an inquisitive way.

So, he still had it. It made sense, Feren still knew where the Sun Mare Ring was even if he didn't have it in his possession. The heirloom of the Giglio Nero famiglia, hidden from prying eyes. For a moment he remembered the past, back when he was still an adult and the tight bonds he'd felt being part of the family. It just made Iroka's question all the harder for him to answer "We aren't the last, but it's close." Iroka likely didn't remember too much of the end of Spiaggia and it wasn't Feren's place to drag it all up again. He asked who his heir was but Feren found himself cut off again by Rin as the newest Guardian arrived, he did a brief double-take, he could tell where her genes came from...
"Oi, oi, first Takahashi-kun now this" he muttered, keeping himself surprisingly alert. He was a little cautious around Assassins and that went double for the Varia, they kept themselves active even after Vongola disbanded. Still, she asked a pertinent question, should they tell Raitaro? Feren shrugged, probably surprising Iroka "What does that idiot need to know? The only guardian he actually ASKED was you. Tell him if ya want, Rai-kun probly won't even notice" despite his words Feren had a fairly high opinion of Saya's brat, he just wasn't about to admit it in public. He reminded him a lot of Saya at that age, but with the downside of being outrageously flirty and actually HAVING responsibilities. Whereas Rin, awkwardly, reminded him a lot of the woman Saya would become. Not to mention the parrallels he was drawing with the other Guardians...
Speak of the devil "Iroka, I seem to have picked up the rest of the Family. Ahh well, I'm sure Raitaro won't mind missing this-"
------
"AA-CHOO! Ahh man, *sniff*, I must have a cold. Jokes on you dad, idiots CAN get colds. Now, this jaguar headed wrestler isn't going to beat himself..."

Answering Kentaro's question with a decidedly unhappy glower, Feren announced "They died. Some after they left, some briefly before the big battle but the former Spiaggia got annihilated. Of the Primary Guardians, me and Iroka are probably the only survivors. We got away because Saya held them off" He could give them details, glorious battle stories of how they'd fought the mysterious enemy, how they'd taken them down as hard as they had gone down and how Saya have been a brilliant leader right to the end but it felt... unneccessary. The problem had been dealt with, Spiaggia was recovering and as far as they were aware the old enemy was dealt with. Still, he didn't like thinking about that day. "Don't tell Raitaro" he added "He doesn't need to know how his mother died. I'm going to tell him when he's ready."

Iroka went silent and his usual jovial look faded from his face. He slumped against the wall looking at the sky. So him and feren were the only two primaries left and only a few of the others had survived. He closed his eyes remembering the battle. The battle where Saya had saved both him and Feren. He owed so much to her. So very much. He would help this family survive if it killed him. What had happened before would NOT happen again.
"If Saya hadn't done what she did none of the original members would be alive." he said sadness etching every word. "The mare rings would of been lost and things would be a lot worse." He looked over at Rin raising an eyebrow. Another one of the guardians? What was this a reunion? On top of that it seemed his heir had not yet been found so his ties to the family would remain. "I will make sure this new generation survive and prosper." It was odd for him to make a promise, let alone such a serious one.
"So what slots have been filled for this new generation?" he asked looking at Feren. There was more to the question then just how many slots had been filled. He wanted to know about them. Who were related to the old family and who was new? Who would need help developing and who wouldn't? "I'm guessing sun hasn't and I know cloud hasn't."

He didnt think it would be that bad as he thought they just died from natural causes. His blank face was his way of saying that he was shocked. The name Saya had entered his mind before but the name did not mean anything to him until now. Was that Rai's mother? He wondered to himself and realized that Rai did not talk about his mother a lot, though Ken just figured she was off somewhere doing whatever it was she did. He nodded and promised to Feren that he wouldnt say anything to Rai, as Ken could feel what he is feeling possibly. He knew that it felt like to lose family, as his family was killed right before his eyes. He also knew that he wouldnt want anybody digging up in his past, so why bother?
Ken looked at Iroka with a smile on his face, as it seemed that he wanted to help out however he can. As he thought to himself, he also wondered how many guardians that they had now. He counted on his fingers to himself. They had himself, Rai, Sheeka, Iroka was filling in but he counted him as well, and their new guardian Rin, which was five. All they needed was storm and sun and they would be complete. "Storm is missing as well." Ken figured he was talking to the whole group as he asked which roles which filled already. "Im the Sky Guardian. Kentaro Takahashi, Scientist of the Spiagga." Ken gave Iroka his signature lazy salute.

However, simply because it was Raitaro's mother and he had no room to pry, he never asked. He didn't like it when people asked about his mother and figured Raitaro the same if something had happened to her.
Now, however, after listening what had really happened...he knew what had gone down. Poor Raitaro. It just wasn't fair that somebody decided to take away family. Who had the right? Nobody had the right to take away somebody who was so well-loved. Some say that God, did...but Sheeka had steadily lost faith that God existed at all. He'd been raised in Italy where a lot of the people he knew were Catholic. His family hadn't been, but he knew enough of both sides to know which side he stood on.
"Don't tell Raitaro. He doesn't need to know how his mother died. I'm going to tell him when he's ready." |
[/i] Sheeka nodded his head slightly, agreeing not to mention Raitaro's mother to him. He'd already made his own agreement not to bring up his mother unless the other did, however. Sheeka had lost his own mother, although under different circumstances. He knew what it was like. Although, to be honest...a lot of the new generation guardians seem to have come from a warped past. Raitaro probably had the most normal of pasts, but he'd still lost his mother. "I've noticed that his mother isn't around, so I figured something happened to her...so I never said anything in case it was a sore subject like mine can be at times," Sheeka answered truthfully. "I think he'd want to know what happened to her one day, Feren-san...if he's going to be a decent leader, then he should know." Sheeka of course, knew what happened to his mother, being witness to her death, but knowing that she'd had been apart of something bigger had been a nice thing to find out about her, even if it meant he really had never known her. Raitaro should know that his mother died protecting her friends and family, even if what he knew about her would change. "So what slots have been filled for this new generation?"[/i] Finally. A topic not so...depressing. "Well...We have both a primary and a secondary mist guardian. Kentaro, as he just introduced himself, is our Sky guardian. Raitaro is the Lightning, of course. I'm counting you as Cloud, for now. So. We still need Sun and Storm, as already pointed out," Sheeka answered before introducing himself, much like Kentaro just had. "Ah. Sheeka Rithan, Primary Mist Guardian and your resident firearms expert for the Spiaggia. Or I've also gone by Sheeka Riva, after my adoptive father as well as Sheeka Rovati, after my mother." To be honest, the fact he still shared a surname as his father who had neglected him and allowed his step mother to abuse him. He'd severed ties with his family when he'd run away, that surname was all that was linking him to his father and stepmother now. Although, she sparred a glance to Sheeka, who chimed in only moments before. Her attention soon turned back to Feren though, who she responded to with a simple shrug of the shoulders and a clever smirk. "You say that as if it was a bad thing, Feren-san. If anything, that at least proves Rai has enough sense to recognize talent when he sees it." Rin retorted calmly, though the confidence in her words was hard to ignore. Had she been holding a real sword, instead of a wooden one, then the results may have been very different. Rai's choice, whether intentional or not, had put him a step closer to the family's goals and he deserved credit for that much, in Rin's opinion.
"Maybe not, but as the boss, he should be aware of the actions of his own Guardians, regardless of how insignificant or dire the matters may be." She explained lazily, though in her own way, seemed to be reflecting the strictness the Varia had when it came to discipline and loyalty. There were few better suited to fulfilling the duties expected of the Rain Guardian than Rin was, but those same traits could make her a somewhat unnerving presence in certain situation. Kentaro's question though, immediately earned a raised brow from Rin as Feren's expression changed and he began to explain what had happened to the last seven Guardians.
"So,... the rumors were true. I hate to say I had my suspicions, but it's rare to see a family so short of potential Guardians, unless some form of tragedy has taken place." Rin commented logically, thinking back to her own experience as an assassin and the circumstances surrounding the fall of so many other families. The Spiaggia family were not unique when it came to attempt to simple wipe out an enemy, especially not with the treasure they were guarding. However, it did explain why Rai had reached outside the family in the search for new Guardians, if most of them were now currently deceased.
It was Feren's words regarding Rai's mother, that really caught her attention though, as he explained Rai was unaware of the circumstance and wanted them to keep it secret, until he was old enough to hear it. Normally, Rin might have disagreed, but she knew better than anyone how sensitive things could be when it came to family. Of course, she could certainly agree with Sheeka. Matters like this were sensitive though, and while he needed to know, the wrong timing could do more harm than good and that was the last thing she wanted for Rai. "He's right in one sense, Feren-san. Rai does need to know and while it's our job to protect him, he's not a child anymore. Don't wait to long, otherwise the truth will only be more painful." She advised calmly, crossing her arms lightly as Iroka confessed to what Saya had done.
When the acrobat questioned what positions had already been filled, she allowed Kentaro and Sheeka to fill in most of the answers. She was never keen on new people, so was more interested in observing the Guardians together, since her only experience so far had been with Rai and Sheeka. However, when the two introduced themselves, it suddenly became apparent that they were waiting for her to chime in, though she had never been one for introduction. "Rin Shirayama. Primary Rain Guardian and expert in swordsmanship,... that's it." Rin answered rather bluntly, not about to bring up anymore details that she had to about her life prior to, nor any mention of her family. They were subjects she didn't like to talk about and had she not favored her grandfather so much, probably would have left them completely naive to her relation to the former Sword Emperor and her ties to the former Varia.
