Just his type of night.
There he was. Standing in front of...let's see..one..two....six guys who all looked pretty butthurt to say the least. He stared them all down as each man held a look that was a combination of confidence and murderous intent. The young man sighed then took out a box of cigarettes from his pocket then angled it to where the opening faced the men. "Any of you smoke?"He asked while taking one out for himself. The men all held their glares at the young man as he took out a lighter then lit his cig and took a puff. When no one responded or stepped forward, the young man sighed a bit then shrugged and put the box away. "Guess not."Now you may be wondering to yourself how this young man got into this situation with six thugs glaring him down with an angry look. I'll tell you so we'll have to go back a few hours.
Some hours ago.
The young man walked down the stair into the dark tunnel. He looked around at the faces . Some of them looked at the young man then immediately made a B- Line for the exit. Other gave the man a dignified nod on the head. If you haven't guessed where he was by now, the young man was in an underground fighting arena and by the mixed looks of the people there, he's been there a few times. As he made his way to the ring for his fight, the young man was stopped y a shady looking character. This guy had on a dingy grey jacket and ac cut across his nose. The stranger stopped the young man and spoke. "You the guy they call the Typhoon Tyrant right?"He asked with a raspy voice. The young man nodded while taking a puff from his cigarette. The scrawny little guy smirked a bit. "Good. Then you won't mind throwing your fight."
The young man raised an eyebrow from his shades at the scrawny guy. The little fellow made a little snicker then pointed his thumb behind him to a corner filled with about six ruffian looking fellows. The scrawny man spoke again. "Y'see we got a pal of ours fighting and we made a bet against so. It would be nice if you did us a favor an- GAAAHHH"The young man cut this short fellow off by grabbing his hand and squeezing. Tight. He pulled the little man closer then spoke. "Threaten me again and I'll kill you."The young man said while blowing smoke in the little man's face then letting him go and continued on his way. Once the young man made his way to the ring, a bell began to ring twice and a well toned brown skinned man came into the middle of the ring where a large group of young and old men bean to gather. The fight was on its way.
The brown man grabbed a mic then began to speak. "ALL RIGHT Y'ALL READY TO SEE A FIGHT?"He yelled to the crowd of people. They all began to shout loudly. Guess they were into fights. The brown man spoke once more. "Alright in this corner we have our main man Guido Sparks from the East Side Yakuza!"Mixed reactions of boos and yaays roared out in the crowd. The brown man then turned to the young man's side and cleared his throat a bit. "And uh...i this corner w-we have the Typhoon Tyrant himself..Revel Showalter..."There were groans in the crowd mixed with some loud cheering. Revel then looked over at his opponent. Wasn't much bigger than the guy that threatened him. He took out a hand wrap from his pocket then wrapped it around his hand. Wouldn't take much to win this fight.
The brown man raised his hands then moved to the edge of the ring and lowered them,a sign to begin fighting. Revel stepped forward to the middle of the ring and stood there. The other guy, Guido Sparks began to quickly circle Revel, all while talking trash. revel kept his face emotionless and forward as the other young man began to charge his hand with Lightning flames then launched a single punch at Revel. Revel reacted almost instantaneous. He sidestepped then covered his wrapped hand with Storm flames and launched a counter punch right into the other fighters stomach. Revel watched as the white in the man's eyes began to show before he hit the ground. The brown man came back into the ring. 'Uh..winner..by knockout...The Typhoon Tyrant..Revel Showalter"Before the brown man could congratulate Revel and give him his money, Revel had already snatched it and made his way out. With $1300 cash.
Which lead him to this situation with these Yakuza.
Seems like the little fellow was serious, but it didn't matter to Revel. These guys couldn't take him. The all came at once and Revel was ready. He already had his hand wraps on so it's not like he didn't see this coming. First two came from his left and right. Revel sidestepped over to the right and hit the guy with four quick pushes that led from his chest up to his head, knocking him out. He sidestepped again and did the same to the other guy. Next two came behind him, Revel jumped back while turning his body around, making his fist connect right with the man's face. He then round housed the man behind him which only left two guys left. Well one since one of the two men ran off. The final guy rushed Revel full on. Revel didn't move. Instead, he waited for the guy to get in his range then picked him up and threw the man using his momentum from running as fuel.
Once that was all done with, Revel dusted off his hands then put his wraps away and began walking home. "Huh. Wonder if a chicken joint is open...."

Revel Showalter.... Rin watched from the railing of a nearby fire escaped as the Yakuza cornered the young street fighter, though made no attempt to interfere. For starters, it wasn't any of her business and she wasn't about to put her neck on the line for someone that had nothing to do with her. However, Rin also wanted to see just what this Revel fellow was capable of outside of the ring. Not that she was any stranger to the fighting circuits in this city, in fact, Rin had a habit of frequenting them prior to joining the Spiaggia. Although, this time around she wasn't simply searching for a strong opponent. Since joining the family, Rin had become all to aware that Rai was not the most experienced leader and that the chances of him locating suitable Guardians without some better connections to the underworld was completely hopeless. That's why, Rin had chosen to take on the task for him, starting with gathering information on certain individuals that showed promise and great potential as possible candidates for Guardians.
Of course, with a few quick calls it had been easy enough to round up enough candidates to make things interesting. It was rather amazing what one could do when your grandfather was the former vice-captain of the Varia. In total, Rin had already ruled out several, mostly because they had turned out to disappointments or simply weren't what she was looking for. Until finally, her attention had fallen to a certain street-fighter, by the name of Revel Showalter. He wasn't the hardest man to find and after observing a few of his recent matches, Rin had to admit, he certainly showed more potential than any of the other candidates she'd seen. However, he was notoriously foul tempered and unruly, which seemed to be exactly what had ended him up in his current situation with the Yakuza.
Observing as he opted for taking them on with his bare fist, Rin could only smirk as the Yakuza were sent either running in fear or flying across the alleyway into the garbage cans. The whole spectacle was rather entertaining, to say the least. Then again, Rin wasn't your average young woman and tended to enjoy combat probably more than she should have, though that seemed to be a common trait among the Spiaggia. When it was clear the fight was over and Revel started to head out of the alleyway, Rin decided she'd done enough sitting on the sidelines. "Voi! Leaving already? It was just getting entertaining." She called out to him confidently, flashing a smirk as she pushed herself off from where she was sitting with her legs hanging over the railing in a carefree manner.
Landing gracefully a few feet away, Rin's long white hair was tied back in her familiar manner, with a black ribbon holding it in a pony tail. She'd never been one to dress in typical mafia attire, so opted with something more simple; a pair of dark jeans and a blue v-neck t-shirt. Her favorite black coat with the white fur around the hood was worn over the attire, while a simple pair of black lace up boots completed the outfit. What stood out the most though, were those enigmatic features, the white hair and fair skin that seemed to make the crimson color of her eyes pierce through the shadows of the alleyway. A black cloth sword bag with her weapon was thrown over her shoulder, just in case things went south, but for the most part gave no indicators of aggression as she turned to face him.
"I don't suppose you would happen to have some free time, Mister Showalter? There's a certain matter I'd like to discuss with you." Rin explained politely, flashing a steady smile as she pushed her hands into her pocket calmly. Normally, Rin attempted to handle these kinds of situations with as much diplomacy as possible. However, as in past cases, there were times when such situations couldn't be avoided and violence was the only thing people seemed to understand, so she was left with no other choice, except to beat them senseless. Still, Rin would try to avoid that route if she could. There was no point in bringing back a busted Guardian and a corpse wasn't very useful for the task she had in mind, no matter how one looked at it. Revel had talent and he was strong enough, Rin had seen that much so far by his fearlessness to challenge the Yakuza, but whether he had the control enough to be a suitable Guardian, that she intended to find out. A new challenger joins the fight.
Revel was taking his dear sweet time making it out of the alley, cig in his mouth and all. He didn't care much that those guys could have at least six broken bones each. Shouldn't have threatened him. Revel kept walking, keeping his mind on this chicken joint that was supposed to be around the corner. Man...if Revel could have one thing right now it would be some nice fried chicken with some beans and rice. Top that off with some juice and bam. Best late night snack ever. Revel would always think about food when he wasn't fighting or sleeping. Kinda your only past time when you bash people's heads in for a living, but hey, normal people pissed him off too much to get a regular job.
Matter of fact, Revel could remember his first time going underground and fighting. Like it was yesterday. He decided to take the noobie's challenge and take on ten guys all at once. No holds barred match and anything went. Just the type of situation that Revel loved. He loved situations when he didn't have to hold back. Only problem was that his clothes got blood and dirt mixed in and he hated doing laundry, but a fun fight nonetheless. Revel loved a good fight. If you could assure him that he would get one, then you had his attention and interest, something you'd have to flip a b***h to get under normal circumstances.
Speaking of fights, Revel heard a strange voice. Sounded like a woman's voice and she wanted to talk with him. Revel turned around to see a very.....fine lady standing before him. He tipped his glasses down a bit and looked her up and down while moving closer. "Yeah I'm leaving. No more people to destroy."He said while blowing some smoke into the air then stopping about six feet from where the girl was standing. She looked very slim and had nice curves..hair was pretty good looking. Yep. Revel had decided this already in his head.Totally gonna take this chick out for some dates before I die.He thought while raising an eyebrow at her request.
"The fact that you know my name means that my reputation has gotten the best of me."He said while taking another puff then scratching the back of his head and looking at the watch on his wrist."Hurry it up. KFC is closing in thirty so make this quick before i decide to leave, toots."He said while keeping a nice casual stare at the girl's figure, mainly her legs. Wonder if she's got a dude already...nah..saying random sh*t like 'Voi' would seem to be a turn off for most guys nowadays right?

Despite his hair, he kind of reminded her of a tiger in some ways, the ferocity and confidence that seemed to escape him as he turned to face her. It was what had caught her eye back when she'd been watching him in the ring. He was completely fearless, unafraid of the pain that so many were and exhibiting an almost ruthless instinct to win at any cost. They were all good signs one needed to have in the mafia and especially as a guardian. "Oh, that's a shame." Rin replied, hinting at some kind of regret in words, though the smile never wavered as he started forward and stopped just short of where she was standing. She noticed his glance, though didn't have to guess what he was doing by sizing her up, not a bad thing necessary.
"I should say so, you've become quite the big name on the underground fighting circuits. You last few fights were quite impressive, and you have a great deal of natural talent, along with untapped potential, which is exactly why I wish to speak with you about a certain... proposition, Mister Showalter." She explained calmly, recalling that he had been the favorite to win his last match. His record was one of the best circulating and exactly what had drawn the Rain Guardian to take notice of him. Had he not had such a reputation or ferocity, she might have passed him over as she had so many already, but Revel had managed to do what so few were able to - he'd impressed her.
His attempts to rush only earned a smirk in amusement, so he was hungry. That made sense, after burning off so much energy. "Very well, Mister Showalter. My name is Rin Shirayama and I am the Rain Guardian of a particular family that could use you talents as a fighter. I'm here to offer you a position, if your interested, and to test you abilities to fulfill that role." Rin had never been one to beat around the bush, so decided to get to the most obvious factor at hand. Besides, she was tired of mingling with talentless street urchins, so wanted this matter over with. However, she couldn't help digging in her own little quip to see exactly what type of person he was.
"Unless, of course, you simply don't have the stomach for being able to best a woman. In which case, I can totally understand. The last few were also quite gifted, but despite their skills, they proved to be something of a disappointment." She added with a knowing smirk in temptation. Mind you, it wasn't the first time Rin had ever called a man onto the carpet or questioned his prowess. In fact, she was notorious for the actions as a swordsman, so this little game wasn't all that different from what she did in her free time to maintain her reputation as the Sword Empress. Not that Revel seemed to put the matter together, few people did without some prior knowledge of the mafia and it was unlikely he would realize the danger, until like so many, it was to late to turn back. She spoke like a proper person and even referred to Revel as 'Mr. Showalter.' He spat out the dud in his mouth and took out another cigarette then lit it with his lighter. "Mr. Showalter is my dad."He took a puff and blew smoke out while adjusting his shades. "Call me Revel."If this girl had been a guy or ugly then Revel would have ignored her completely and went on his merry way, but he got a different feel from this girl. Someone who had a lot of secrets and didn't want to tell tham at all. That interested Revel a bit. Enough to the point that he actually decided to stay and talk to the girl. "Family eh? Mafia, I'm guessing."He said threw another puff.
Revel knew a bit about the Mafia world. he knew that they practically ran this place and that they themselves were filled with tough contenders. Now one of them is interested in recruiting him? Seems legit. He cleared his throat a bit before he spoke. "Sup,Rin."Revel said calmly. "Now I'm not the type to hang around a group filled with people I'll most likely hate so the only reason that I would even contemplate joining this Family is if i were promised some fights. Good ones."This was the equalizer with any conversation with Revel, but he wouldn't join a family just willy nilly. Revel needed to be sure that he wouldn't have to save anyone's ass if sh*t got real.
"I don't give a damn about the sex of someone who wants to fight me. Don't even care if you're a drag queen or not."He said while taking out his storm ring then putting it back on and covering his hands with his Storm Flame resistant hand wraps. "I'll join your family under the condition that you fight me with the intent to kill right now. Don't think I'll hold back just because you've got a nice rack either. I'm going to crush you."With that, Revel ignited his Storm Flames and they covered both of his hands with Storm Flames. This was his Flame ability, Flamethrower. His fists now held the disintegration factor of the storm flames and he knew how to use them. The man charged at the girl then threw a mean right hook at her.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=width,350,true][STYLE=float: left; width: 100px; height: 100px; margin-right: 5px; margin-top: 5px;][/style][/classy][STYLE=width: 400px; text-align: justify; font: normal 11px arial; line-height: 90%; padding-bottom: 10px] Rin offered very little response to the correction, since the matter had less to do with respect and more to do with habit. When his question about the family being mafia, she simply offered a nod in answer, seeing no point in some long winded speech. If Revel was worried or fearful of the matter, then now was his chance to run. Rin knew better than most that the mafia was not for the weak or faint of heart, and had recently learned that it had been the error and lax of the former guardians that had nearly wiped out the Spiaggia family. She wouldn't allow something like that to happen on her watch, not while Raitaro was boss or she still drew breath.
As Revel began to speak once more, explaining his conditions, Rin couldn't help allow the faintest of smirks to graze her lips as she was capable of sensing where he was going with this. Not that one could really blame him, there was no point of serving a weak leader and his subordinates were closest test to that strength. In fact, it was under such circumstances that had convinced her to join not to long ago, but as his slipped his gloves on, he wasted little time in charging forward.
Side stepping at the last moment, so that her right foot was outside his punch, Rin made sure to use her right forearm to steer his elbow away from her. Revel might have had a devastating punch, but such things would do little good if he couldn't hit her and he was about to learn that he'd earned more than he bargained forward. Allowing her right hand to fall onto his shoulder to guard her, Rin brought her left knee up, intent on driving the joint into the side of Revel's lower rib cage. While she was a swordsman by trade, it wasn't the only method of self-defense that Rin had learned as the grand-daughter of the former vice-captain of the Varia. However, there seemed little point in wasting her time, unless it was necessary to draw the weapon earnestly.
Instead, she intended to show him what many fighters in the ring couldn't - true pain. "Voi! Don't take me so lightly. I'm not like those punks you fight in the ring. If I wanted you dead, you'd be dead. Fortunately, for you, my boss doesn't have much use for a corpse." Rin explained with a devilish smirk, as something more akin to a fire seemed to shine in those crimson colored eyes. It was an almost demonic hue, one that seemed to speak of far more experience than her physical appearance hinted. Well versed in the art of combat and murder, there was a reason she had once been offer the chance to fill her grandfather's role as Vice-Captain.
